Farrago overview

Farrago provides the best way to quickly play sound bites, audio effects, and music clips on your Mac. Podcasters can use Farrago to include musical accompaniment and sound effects during recording sessions, while theater techs can run the audio for live shows. Whether it's providing quick access to a large library of sounds or running through a defined list of audio, Farrago is ready to assist!

Powerful Tile Interface: Farrago's tile grid lets you lay out your audio exactly how you want it. Put your sounds at your fingertips and work the way you want.
Customize With the Inspector: Use the inspector to tailor each sound's settings to your needs. Set the tile name and color, tweak in/out points, alter fade settings and more.
Organize With Sets: Create distinct groups of audio based on mood, show, or any other critera you like. Using sets makes managing audio a breeze.
Sound Sets: Farrago's default sound set is useful, but you can create your own sets based on show, mood, or anything else you like.
A Thoughtful Interface: Farrago's tile-based layout provides an easily understood way to play your audio via the keyboard or mouse.
Global Access via Hotkeys: With Farrago's user-definable Global Hotkey, you can pull the app forward, then use the in-app shortcuts to instantly trigger your desired audio.

What’s new in version 2.1.3

Initial Support for MacOS 26 (Tahoe)

Farrago now has initial support for MacOS 26 (Tahoe), and will no longer warn at launch when run on Tahoe. If you
encounter any issues, please reach out via the “Contact Rogue Amoeba…” option in the “Help” menu.
A new “Show in Set” option has been added to the contextual (control-click) menu for search results, to reveal the tile
in its parent set. A similar “Show in Parent Set” option has been added to the contextual (control-click) menu for all
tiles within a Smart Set.
Adjustments have been made to correct an issue with playback modifiers. To solo a tile (stopping playback of all other
tiles when starting the new tile’s playback), the modifiers Shift+Control are now used, rather than the incorrect
Option+Control. This avoids a conflict with tile shortcuts.
Distortion which might have been heard with resampled sound files has been eliminated.
Under certain circumstances, notes could previously appear cut off in List mode. That issue has now been corrected.
“Selected Tile Controls” actions now always correctly update when multiple Set windows are visible in Farrago.
Multiple rare crashes have been fixed, including one which could occur when drawing images has been fixed, as well as
one triggered by the hovering volume readout being visible while entering or exiting full-screen mode, or when switching
spaces.
An error message which could appear in rare cases when exiting full-screen mode has been excised.
Farrago’s app icon has been modified slightly, to enable it to escape from the icon jail Apple implemented in MacOS 26
(Tahoe).
Farrago’s “About” box has been updated with a new design.

Reliability: 4.0

Just runs and runs. Had a issue with running audio files from Microsoft network share. Never found a good workaround for it. Would be nice to see support for that as the world does use MS products and it is hard to get away from.

RA is great company that truly wants to make the best product possible. They are willing to talk over suggestions you may have and find ways to incorporate them. I have had a few conversations with RA and asked for features that would help us use their tool at the college radio station I helped manage. They were very good about adding suggestions in the first version and following up on others in v2.0.
